OAALJ Board Meeting Minutes

January 11, 2005

In attendance: Greg Naugle, David Marcus, Alison Webster, Steve Demarest, Larry Smith.

Treasurer’s report: See attachment.

OAALJ’s profit on Fall Conference: $3,381.37

Fall Conference wrap-up:  The OAALJ website should announce that the CLE materials are available for sale.

OAALJ website:  Greg noted that the website received 1200 unique visitors in November 2004 and approximately 1300 in December.

Election of Treasurer:  The Board elected Steve Demarest as Treasurer.

ALJ Career Satisfaction survey:  Greg found a website that hosts surveys.  The Board voted to use this site to develop a survey targeted Oregon ALJs.  The Board also approved spending $60 (two months at $30) to post our survey on this website.  Alison agreed to help Greg develop questions for the survey.

NAALJ News:  David announced that NAALJ is having its 2005 mid-year conference in Savannah, GA. 

Newsletter items:  Articles in the upcoming issue of Off the Record should include a profile of Greg as the new president, scholarship opportunities to NJC available to OAALJ members.  It was also suggested that we ask Janice Krem to draft an article on Legislative Concepts related to administrative law.

Other Agenda items were tabled to the next Board meeting—scheduled for February 22, 2005--and the meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
