OAALJ Board Meeting Minutes

February 18, 2004

In attendance: Andrea Sloan, Alison Webster, Greg Naugle, Larry Smith, Monica Smith, Peter Rader, Steve Rissberger, Cathy Coburn, David Marcus.

Treasurer's Report:  Accounts same as last month.  Peter Rader, as incoming treasurer, will meet with DeeAnna, outgoing treasurer, for the passing of the baton. 

Membership Committee:  Peter, Greg and Cathy reported on activities to increase membership.  OSB does not offer member discounts with business such as airlines, hotels or restaurants.  Peter contacted several local businesses to discuss member discounts.  Greg presented mock-ups of member certificates and wallet cards. 

Newsletter:  Andrea set next issue for April.  Submission deadline is Friday, March 5th. 

Spring Conference:  David asked for volunteers to help with the planning.  Alison agreed to help.

First Friday Lunches:  In Salem at the Newport Bay on Market St.  In Portland at China Moon on Macadam.  We discussed offering one free lunch at each location as an enticement.

Scholarships:  We discussed offering member scholarships to either the National Judicial College or the NAALJ annual meeting.

Other Business:  We authorized up to $100 to Greg to produce the membership certificates. 

Next Board meeting scheduled for March 15, 2004 at 6:00 at the Wilsonville Holiday Inn.
