OAALJ Board Meeting Minutes

March 15, 2006

Thai Village, Wilsonville OR

In attendance: Greg Naugle, Larry Smith, Steve Demarest, Alison Webster, Jon Micheletti, Charlotte Rutherford.

Treasurer's Report:  Total: $9066.59 

Old Business:  Greg renewed our corporate registration with the State of Oregon, as a domestic nonprofit organization.  The renewal cost $50. 

Election of Officers:  The Board elected Larry Smith as president, Jon Micheletti as vice president, Alison Webster will continue to serve as secretary and Steve Demarest will continue on as treasurer. 

OAALJ Website:  The website continues to generate hits.  In January there were 2128 visitors, in February 1784 and over 1000 so far in March. 

Other Matters:  The Board discussed whether to hold an ALJ conference this year and, if so, what the conference should entail.  We discussed various alternatives, from a full day program covering a variety of topics to a half-day program focusing on one issue.  We discussed the possibility of bringing in a "celebrity" speaker, hat would be relevant to our profession.  Concerns were raised about the timing of the conference, and the ability of the Board to get a subcommittee together to plan such an event within the next few months.  The discussion was ultimately tabled until the next meeting.

Next meeting scheduled for April 13, 2006 at Hunan Pearl in Lake Oswego.
