In attendance: Steve Demarest, Linda Lohr, Greg Naugle, David Marcus, Steve Rissberger, Andrea Sloan, Larry Smith, Alison Webster.
Treasurer’s report: No new statements were received since the February report, so balances should be the same. Steve is working with Peter Rader to update the signature cards. Both Steve and Greg will be added as signatories on the accounts, Peter Rader and Cathy Coburn will be removed, as they are no longer Board members. Steve will also check into the availability of credit or debit card for the US Bank account.
Minutes: Board Meeting minutes from January 11, 2005 and February 22, 2005 were approved.
OAALJ’s Website Update: There were 1529 unique visits to the site in February. The website can track referrals, and it appears that most referrals come from search engines such as Google and Yahoo, although some have come from the State Bar webpage.
Resolution on ALJ Salaries: David circulated the final Resolution for Board member signatures. David also reported that the bargaining meeting with AFSCME is scheduled for March 22, 2005 and the OPEU bargaining meeting is scheduled for April 12, 2005.
ALJ Career Satisfaction survey: Greg asked the board to review the draft, and submit any comments or additional questions. Unforeseen circumstances prevented him from finalizing the survey for tonight’s meeting, but he will have a final draft ready for Board review/approval at next month’s meeting. The invitation to participate in the survey will be done via e-mail. The e-mail will contain a link to the survey website. The responses will be anonymous, unless the person chooses to provide his or her identity.
Membership: David will be sending a membership update letter to current members, including a copy of the Resolution on ALJ Salaries.
Andrea and Linda will be sending a letter to non-member ALJs, inviting them to join the OAALJ.
Newsletter: The next issue of Off the Record is scheduled to go out in mid-June. Suggested articles include the survey results and an update on the OAH and BOLI ALJ’s request for a general salary increase.
The next Board meeting was scheduled for April 13, 2005 at Hunan Kitchen in Wilsonville. The meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m. |
