OAALJ BOARD MEETING MINUTES
October 9, 2002

Present: Steve Rissberger, Jane Clink, Bruce Black, Cathy Coburn, Maurice (Skip) Russell, and Monica Smith

The September 12, 2002, minutes were approved. Jane Clink prepared these and will send them to Bill Young for posting on our website.

No Treasurer report was given, as the treasurer was unavailable for the meeting.

A discussion ensured regarding some ALJ’s not receiving the OAALJ newsletter.

It was agreed that phone calls would be made to get to the root of the problem.

OAALJ Law Conference - Deeanna and Skip met with the other hearsay presenter for the conference and all went well.

We reviewed the list David Marcus submitted of people who had not yet signed up for the conference and the board members divided up the names and decided who would call whom.

Annual Meeting – It will cost $700 for an appetizer only menu and only $150 more for a full dinner so we opted to spend the additional $150 or $850 total for food at the annual meeting.

Notice needs to go out by November 5 because we are meeting on December 5 and we need a 30-day window. The dues issue should be mentioned in the notice. Cathy volunteered herself and Dee Anna to write the notice and be the "go to" persons for the annual meeting. Monica volunteered for the membership committee.

There are six open positions and all the current members are welcome to remain. Some possible new board members are Larry Smith, Kevin Anselm, Allison Webster, Frank Mussell and Bernadette Janet. We discussed increasing board members to nine with a bylaws amendment at the annual meeting.

Meeting adjourned at 7:35PM to November 7, 2002 at Holiday Inn in Wilsonville, Oregon at 6:00pm.
