OAALJ BOARD MINUTES
NOVEMBER 14, 2000

The meeting was called to order at 6:15 p.m. at the Phoenix Inn, Wilsonville, Oregon, by President Rutherford. The following Board members were also in attendance: Abigail Herman, Lynne Wehrlie, Daina Upite, Steve Rissberger, and Bruce Black. During the meeting the following topics/issues were discussed/decided:

1. Newsletter editor report: Member Black indicated the next issue of "Off the Record" was being delayed for Representative Shetterly's article responding to questions from Charlotte. Upon receipt, the newsletter will be mailed out.

2. Annual meeting update: Member Upite reported the notice of the annual meeting to be held on November 20, 2000 will be mailed out to the membership tomorrow. The following agenda is anticipated:

The meeting will run from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m with the business portion of the meeting to start at 7:00 p.m. Topics include the treasurer's report, a reminder to renew membership, education committee report, and election of new Board members. Following the business meeting there will be an informal group discussion regarding the changes and challenges in the Central Hearing Officer panel. Daina will arrange for and bring light snacks and refreshments to the meeting.

Regarding elections, it was noted there would be five open positions with Steve and Bruce continuing. Board members will approach potential candidates and secure nominations. The results will be forwarded to Member Herman for ballot preparation.

3. CLE conference update: Brochures have been delivered to the printers for production. Panel composition is in the process of being firmed up.

4. The next meeting will tentatively be held on 1:00 p.m. December 9, 2000 at Willamette Law School.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
