OAALJ BOARD MINUTES
NOVEMBER 7, 2002

Present: Steve Rissberger, Maurice (Skip) Russell, David Marcus, Dee Anna Hassenpour and Monica Smith

Minutes - The October 9, 2002, minutes were approved. Monica will email them to Bill Young for posting on our website.

Treasurer’s Report - Our regular checking account has $675.62 and our US Bank money market has $1,058.39 and our CD has $4,022.59. The Washington Federal money market has $2,781 for a total of $8,537.81

Old Business – Discussion continued on why some members did not get their OAALJ newsletter. Steve R checked with the printer. Their list of addresses had problems because the computer did not recognize some symbols and abbreviations. Board members agreed to continue to monitor the situation by checking with colleagues on whether they are receiving our mailings. Dee Anna reported that membership renewals are looking good. Many new and old members are renewing.

OAALJ Law Conference – David reported that 70 people had paid so far and that most of the details have been finalized.

Annual Meeting – Bruce putting together language to amend bylaws to increase the number of board members by two. Discussed having board members from outside panel, non-attorney’s and private attorneys.

The notice did not have an RSVP on it so Dee Anna will get a bigger room incase everyone invited shows up.

Discussed having annual meeting take the place of the first Friday lunch for December since meeting takes place night before first Friday. Monica will email Tom to see if he can so advise the panel ALJ’s and perhaps ask them to RSVP Dee Anna or Cathy if they are going to attend the annual meeting and how many in party.

Monica will be in charge of annual meeting minutes this year. Cathy and Steve will add to skeleton version Monica prepared from last year for editing at next meeting.

Meeting adjourned to November 26, 2002 at Holiday Inn in Wilsonville, Oregon at 6:00pm.
