OAALJ BOARD MEETING MINUTES
February 24, 2001

Present: Steve Rissberger, Dee Anna Hassenpour, Jane Clink, Monica Smith, Cathy Coburn, Daina Upite, and Bruce Black

The January 27, 2001, minutes were approved.

Monica Smith and Cathy Coburn were made official members of the Board.

Dee Anna Hassenpour was elected Treasurer of OAALJ

Monica Smith was elected Secretary of OAALJ for one year, and Jane Clink volunteered for this position after Monica's term ended.

Discussed the OAALJ newsletter and having it come out four times this year. Deadline for submissions to the newsletter was extended to April 1, 2001, with March 15, 2001, being Daina's deadline.

Discussed financial impact of the conference and possibly raising the attendance fee next time.

Discussed linking up with other Western States ALJ associations and doing a joint conference. We will also start first Friday lunches in Portland and Salem for all OAALJ members. First Salem lunch to be 3/8 at a location to be announced later. Portland's to start in April and date/location to be set at next board meeting in March. Daina mentioned doing an evening or late afternoon CLE for our members.

Jane will look into collecting all of the OAALJ members email addresses.

Alan McCullough resigned from the Board. Daina agreed to serve until November 2001. In meantime will recruit for Alan's position. After Daina's article comes out in next newsletter will look at a taking a position on the panel rules.

Discussed putting on a half-day conference on one specialty issue like child support with the members and DCS serving at trainers and serving mostly the needs of private attorney's.

Meeting adjourned to April 4, 2001 at Holiday Inn in Wilsonville, Oregon at 5:45pm.
