OAALJ BOARD MEETING MINUTES
September 1, 1999

A brief meeting via telephone conference was held on September 1,1999, at 7:00 p.m. In attendance were Abigail Herman, Lynne Wehrlie, Daina Upite, Steve Rissberger, Bruce Black, Charlotte Rutherford, and Erika Hadlock. During the meetin the following topics/issues were discussed/decided:

1. It was decided by the Board to have small ALJ meetings in Portland, Salem and Eugene to discuss the ramifications of HB 2525. It was envisioned such meetings would be informal in nature. The intent of the meeting is to identify issues of concern affected ALJs. Ideally, the meetings would be held sometime in October prior to the annual meeting in November.

2. To accomplish the above, it was further decided committees would be formed. The Salem committee would be composed of Steve, Daina, and Lynne; the Portland committee would be composed of Erika, Charlotte, and Abbie; and the Eugene committee, Lynne and Bill Young. The Salem committee indicated it would use the First Friday luncheon at "The Pointe" for the meeting. The Portland committee would telephone conference on September 7, 1999 at 8:30 a.m. to determine a time and location of the Portland meeting.

3. Flyers advertising the meetings, would be mailed out to the membership as well as those ALJs directly affected by HB 2525. It was requested the committees get this information to Steve for Valley Mailing, not later than September 20,1999.

4. The next Board Meeting was set for Tuesday, October 5, 1999, at 6:00 p.m. to 8:04 p.m. Location to be at the Phoenix Inn in Wilsonville.

There being no further action, the meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
