OAALJ is pleased to announce the winners of the 2005 Law Student Writing
Competition, co-sponsored by the Association and the Administrative Law
Section of the Oregon State Bar.
Patrick B. Cates is the first prize winner for his article, Economic
Development and the "Public Use" Clause: An Examination of Kelo v. New
London Patrick
just graduated from Willamette University College of Law and has
returned to his home state of Georgia to pursue his legal career.
Second prize has been awarded to John C. Howry,for his article,
'Education Deprivation: An Application of Constitutional Procedural Due
Process Hearing Standards in the Educational Setting.' John also
graduated this spring from Willamette University College of Law, and
plans to remain in Oregon.
