OAALJ Board Meeting Minutes

January 29, 2004

In attendance: Steve Rissberger, DeeAnna Hassanpour, Skip Russell, Alison Webster, Monica Smith, Cathy Coburn, Greg Naugle, Peter Rader

Treasurer's Report:  Washington Federal CD, $4157.05; US Bank Money Market, 1827.05; US Bank Checking, $430.22; US Bank Savings, $1060.28.  Total: $7474.60.

Meeting Minutes:  The Board approved minutes from the October 22, 2003 meeting and Monica will send these to Bill for posting on our website.  The November 25, 2003 minutes were not available and will be reviewed at the February 2004 meeting.

Discussion of Membership Renewals:  The Board decided to form a subcommittee to look into increasing our membership.  Peter Rader agreed to chair this subcommittee.  Cathy and Greg will help.

Election of 2004 Officers:  President, Alison Webster; Vice President, Greg Naugle: Treasurer, Peter Rader; Secretary, Cathy Coburn.  Andrea agreed to edit the newsletter, with help from Alison.  David will head up work on the Fall Conference.  Steve Rissberger will be our liaison with the OSB Administrative Law Section.

Discussion of next newsletter:  February 18, 2004 is the deadline for submission of articles.

Skip hopes to plan a short CLE on handling complex cases in Spring 2004.  It would be one hour, possibly with a brown bag lunch, free to OAALJ members and $25 to $30 to non-members.

Follow up from Annual Meeting:  Next year, confirm with the speaker ahead of time whether he/she plans to join us for dinner at the meeting.

Other Business:  Next Board meeting scheduled for February 18, 2004.
